From October 17 to October 21, 2008, the Cultural Foundation of
Broward will celebrate and present the Jonathan Green Festival inspired by the painting "Seeking" and the documentary
"Seeking" created to tell the story of the artist's creation.
Seeking The Self is a celebration in several
art forms, presenting interpretations of "Seeking" and Green's extensive work and influence on cultural life
in the South. Included in the festival are a "Meet The Artist" River Reception at the historical New River
Inn, a Film Festival Preview of the award winning documentary, Seeking by filmmaker, Charles Allan
Smith, at the Museum of Art, a family friendly afternoon of dance, gospel and artmaking at the African American Research Library
and Cultural Center, Master classes at Broward magnet schools, a Poetry competition, and a musical piece from "Off The
Wall" Ballet created for the art of Jonathan Green at the Symphony of the Americas 0pening season concert. You can become a Sponsor!

Cultural Foundation of Broward County, a 501(c)3 organization, provides financial support
to enhance our community through cultural programming, services, advocacy and arts education. These funds are directed
to Broward County students (K-12), individual artists, and cultural arts organizations. Our mission is to be a unified
voice and catalyst for support of cultural arts, through development of resources, advocacy and education in Broward County.
The Cultural Foundation collaborators include: Fort Lauderdale Historical Society,
Gold Coast Jazz Society, Fort Lauderdale International Film Festival, Affican American Research Library and Cultural Center,
School Board of Broward County, Broward Center of Performing Arts, Symphony of the Americas, Riverwalk Trust, Urban league
of Broward County, Broward County Cultural Division, the Greater Fort Lauderdale Convention & Visitor's Bureau, and
local arts patrons.
